Skywork AI Surprised Me. It Also Frustrated Me. Here’s Both Sides
There’s a new AI tool out there each week, and most of them are a time and resource drain for you. I gave it a try, seeing it in my feed. I just went for it, seeing it in the feed. Two weeks later, here is my opinion.
What does it do?

You write a topic, and it creates stuff for you. Reports, slides, spreadsheets, podcast scripts, websites. All in one place. It opened its doors in Singapore a bit earlier this year and boasts a library of 600+ sources, compared to most tools.
The good stuff
Tested it on a real client project and NOT a made-up prompt. A competitive analysis that typically would take about 8 hours was completed in 20 minutes. Was it perfect? No. However, it did the job just fine.
The quality of research is outstanding. Sources are identified and cited correctly. What I was most impressed by was the podcast feature, which made the conversations sound natural, not robotic. In addition, the spreadsheet tool is underutilized. Throw it some wrinkled-up data, and it cleans it up, all while including the charts.
The annoying stuff
They have adopted a credit-based system of use, and credits are quickly used up. A major research project can eat up your finances. It shifted from generous to a watch on a meter ticking.
Plus, it sometimes makes up its own stuff. There is a need to check facts.
Breaking Down What’s Actually Worth Your Time
Some features are of more help than others. I will explain to you the main features one by one.
Documents Agent is undoubtedly one of the most potent tools in the suite. Thorough research reports, strategy briefs, and short real-world examples are among the reasons Skywork justifies its price. Also, the references used are original and do not have the length feature in your favor if you are working in a situation where mistakes are not made.
Slides Agent is okay if job speed is your only objective. It will provide you with a good presentation in less than 10 minutes. You might as well call a designer or stop using Canva if you have your sights set on an amazing, striking article.
Sheets Agent is an underappreciated gem that is worth a try. I asked it to identify a trend after giving it a raw table. It produced a clear table with charts and an accurate textual outline. They can be turned on once for those who are not interested in spreadsheets.
As I indicated, I truly enjoyed the Podcasts Agent feature. The pair of the two… Although it is more difficult than it seems, the conversation seems quite natural and not robotic. This will save you a ton of time if you run any kind of content unit.
In contrast, Skywork received a score of 82.42% on the GAIA exam, which gauges a person’s capacity for complex thought and multi-step reasoning. Compared to many other popular items, this is far superior. The only thing that determines whether you will benefit from this trait is how you plan to use it.
What You’re Actually Paying For
The free plan lets you use signup credits and also offers daily refills, so you will have sufficient credits to carry out a real test even without any commitment.
Full access to all features under a paid subscription is $19.99/month. From a price point of view, it seems to be a good deal.
However, the truth is, heavy users who use these tools for deep research daily might find the credit limit very limiting. Honestly, I think you should save your free credits for something really essential in your work. A real project, not a trial. This is how you can figure out if the pace at which credits are used matches your actual use of such tools.
Who Benefits the Most from This?
Consultants, researchers, analysts, and content creators, any role that involves generating structured output in large quantities will get great benefits from this. The level of research is truly what sets it apart. If your job requires not only accuracy but also citations, Skywork is among the few AI tools that take that aspect seriously rather than treating it as just another checkbox.

Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
| DeepResearch accesses 600+ sources to provide thorough research. | The number of credits can get used up rapidly if you are a heavy user. |
| Documents Agent is capable of making cited reports in a few minutes. | Although AI hallucinations can happen, they still need to be fact-checked by humans. |
| Slides Agent assembles neat presentations in no time. | Compared with dedicated no-code tools, the Web Pages Agent is more limited. |
| Podcast Agent crafts engaging and natural conversations. | The quality of the output cannot be completely relied on to replace professional designers. |
| Sheets Agent helps in analyzing data and creating charts. | The chatbot may seem unnecessarily complicated for users who are simply looking for a chatbot. |
| The multi-step reasoning GAIA benchmark score is very strong. | The free credits may not correspond to enough capability testing. |
Final Verdict
It would be a disservice to you if I pretended differently. Skywork AI is not only hype, but it is also far from perfect.
In fact, the DeepResearch engine is a great feature. You may save a lot of time by using documents and slides. A surprisingly useful tool is the podcast producer. Furthermore, the high GAIA benchmark scores show that the underlying AI reasoning is reasonably sound.
However, many have been disappointed—and rightfully so—by the change from an infinite credit model to a credit one. The hallucination issue is a challenge that calls for a careful human eye to detect changes. Aside from that, specialist tools are still superior to the web page agent.
