HP EliteBook 840 G9

Like most business-class laptops, the HP EliteBook 840 G9 is functional, not flashy, and only comes in one color: plain grey. The whole body is made of aluminum. For the G9, HP took a step back from the hard angles of the past by rounding the corners and softening the edges.  this change. The new design looks new and a little less cold. HP says the EliteBook 840 has passed 19 MIL-STD 810H tests over 120,000 hours. This shows how tough it is.

Display: HP EliteBook 840 G9

HP EliteBook 840 G9 has different display panel options, and the EliteBook 840 G9 is no different. Each display panel is 14 inches on the diagonal, uses IPS technology, and has a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio, so there are no 4K+ display options. Beyond that, you can choose between IPS panels with 250 nits of brightness and anti-glare, 400 nits of brightness and low power, 1000 nits of brightness, and HP’s Sure View Reflect privacy screen technology.

You can get the HP EliteBook 840 G9 with a variety of 12th Generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors with 10 to 14 cores and Intel Iris Xe graphics. Three models have processors from the U-series, which use less power, while the others have processors from the P-series, which are more powerful but have less battery life. The system can be set up with 16 to 64 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM and 256 GB to 2 TB of SSD storage. On most models, the SSD storage is fast PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 storage.

Connectivity: HP EliteBook 840 G9

With Wi-FWe6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC, it’s easy to connect to the internet. You can add 5G cellular connectivity with either a nano-SIM or an eSIM. Cellular connectivity is part of the review.

Music: HP EliteBook 840 G9

The HP EliteBook 840 G9 has great stereo speakers with separate amplifiers, and it works well for meetings, listening to music, and watching videos. Even though there are no Dolby enhancements for entertainment, You can watch the movie even at the highest volumes, there was no distortion.

Battery: HP EliteBook 840 G9

One of the best things about HP EliteBook 840 G9 is how long the batteries last. When we tested it with streaming video, it lasted just a little over 12 hours, which is enough time to watch about a season of The Simpsons before you need to find a way to charge it. That’s not bad at all, and it’s what HP said it would do. Total points for that.

Price: HP EliteBook 840 G9

HP EliteBook 840 G9

There are many processor options for the HP EliteBook 840 G9, but the main two are the Intel Core i5-1235U, which costs just over £1,100/$1,600 when writing, and the Intel Core i7-1255U, which we tested and costs almost £1,500/$1,800 at total price.

Conclusion

The HP EliteBook 840 G9 builds on the success of the 840 G8. It has a taller, brighter screen, which is great for content creators, and a longer battery life, which is great for workers who are always on the go. The more powerful Intel Core i7 processor, which is the option we recommend for this pro notebook, can also handle all general creative tasks easily. It’s not a gaming powerhouse, but you can still have a lot of fun playing casual games.
