The Acer Swift X : An Honest Review
The Acer Swift X gives up some power to be as thin as possible. This 14-inch laptop has a powerful AMD 5000 series Ryzen 7 or 12th generation Intel Core i7 processor and powerful NVIDIA RTX graphics, depending on whether you choose the Acer Swift X Intel version. Even though it has powerful hardware, the Acer Swift X is priced very competitively. The display and overall build quality aren’t as good as possible. Still, this is an excellent choice for students or anyone who wants a powerful laptop at a reasonable price that can handle almost any work or gaming.

The Acer Swift X Price and Configuration
For $1,249.99, you can buy the 16-inch Acer Swift X. It has a 12th-generation Intel Core i7-1260P CPU, an Intel Arc A370M GPU, 16GB of RAM, a 1,920-by-1,200 WUXGA display, a 512GB SSD, and Windows 11 Home. Acer Swift X Sound Quality
Speaker quality is usually not a top priority for Acer laptops, and the Swift X is no exception. When I listened to “Mirror” by the indie-pop duo Slenderbodies, the dual-firing speakers on the bottom panel sounded crowded, and I could hear that in lead singer Aram “Max” Vehuni’s voice. The different instruments filled up the soundstage, and the drum hits and synthesizers made a lot of noise.
Acer Swift X Battery Life
This will be the fourth time we’ve tested a computer with Intel’s 12-core C50 W.ore i7-1260P processor. However, this will be the first time we’ve seen it paired with a discrete GPU, so we should probably say a few words about Intel’s new GPUs. The new GPUs in Intel’s Arc series are numbered 3, 5, and 7. The A350M and A370M are low-end GPUs from the three series. The A350M has a maximum TG30 W,f 30W, and the A370M has a maximum TGP of 50W. Both have different maximum clock speeds. The A350M0’s top speed is 1,150 MHz, while the A370M’s is 1,550 MHz. The more powerful A370M is used in the Acer Swift X.
Acer Swift X Easy To Use
The 16-inch Acer Swift X is big but not hard to use. At just under four pounds, it’s lighter than I expected, though the desktop replacement laptops of the past may skew my memory. It almost seems thinner and lighter than it should be, which will make sense when we look at how well it works and how long the battery lasts. It’s simple and functional. There’s nothing fancy about it; it’s just a grey chassis that feels solid.
Acer Swift X Ports
You’ll find most ports on the left side of the Acer Swift X. There are two USB-C (Thunderbolt 4) ports, an HDMI port, and one of the two USB-A ports. The 3.5mm audio jack and a Kensington security slot are next to the second USB-A port on the right side of the computer.
Acer Swift X Keyboard and Webcam
This is a typical Acer keyboard. It’s easy to use, has a lot of space, and has a number pad on the right. The essential action is a little shallow but accurate and quick. The white-on-black characters are apparent, and the two-stage backlight works excellently. The only minor thing I would change is that the fingerprint reader is built into the power button, which is part of the main keyboard. I wouldn’t say I like this, but to be fair, it did work fine.
Verdict
The Acer Swift X is a good laptop for the price it costs. The screen and sound system are excellent, and the build quality and keyboard are the best. There are also many ports and overall performance. The sound system, build quality, and keyboard are good are sound.
There are also many ports, and the overall performance is good. The problem is that, at least in this case, the new Intel GPU isn’t all that impressive. I’m sure Acer saved money by putting in an A370M instead of an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050, and the Swift X 16’s price wouldn’t be too high if it didn’t have a discrete GPU, but it doesn’t add enough to make a good laptop into a great one.
