The Apple Vision Pro 2 Is All Set To Have More Advanced, Brighter Display
The company is excited to try the Apple Vision Pro, which goes on sale in a few weeks, but rumors and leaks have already begun about a mixed-reality headset sequel.

As per the reports, the Apple Vision Pro 2 will have brighter, more efficient displays. More sophisticated micro-OLED technology is also expected. This is likely due to a move to RGB OLEDoS, which directly produces light and color from RGB sub-pixels. Removed color filters to improve visual user experience. Samsung will likely make the panels, although the Apple Vision Pro 2 will launch in 2027, later than previously rumored.

Market research firm Omdia says Apple’s second-generation Vision Pro headset would include more advanced micro-OLED panels for increased brightness and efficiency. Some reports said Apple will upgrade the Vision Pro to an RGB OLEDoS display in 2027, a major advance above the first-generation WOLED with a color filter.

No color filter is needed with RGB OLEDoS technology, which generates light and color from neighboring RGB sub-pixels on a single layer. This outputs far higher brightness than WOLED and color filter OLEDoS displays. The analysis claimed it is far more energy efficient than WOLED and color filter technologies. Following its acquisition of eMagin earlier this year, Samsung is the only business that can supply RGB OLEDoS screens, the study states.
The $3,499 Apple mixed reality (MR) headset, introduced in June, is expected to launch in late January or early February. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects the headset to launch in “late January/early February”. Shipments are expected to reach 500,000 in 2024. In a Medium post, he estimated that Vision Pro would start shipping in the first week of January 2024. Based on a large shipment schedule, Kuo predicted that Vision Pro would hit retail shelves in late January or early February.
