Samsung Galaxy S24 Series: Faster Charging and More AI Specs
It has been reported that the Samsung Galaxy S24 series can offer 14 language translations in real-time while on the phone, thanks to its built-in artificial intelligence capabilities.
Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series may be next year’s first significant flagship launch. We’ve heard that the incoming trio will have various AI capabilities and enhancements to compete with the Google Pixel 8 series. New leaks reveal possible AI-based features on the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. The Galaxy S24 Ultra reportedly uses on-device AI for real-time call translations.
X tipster Ahmed Qwaider (@AhmedQwaider888) said the Galaxy S24 series will include several AI features. The insider claims the top-end Galaxy S24 Ultra will have an AI-backed circle search that automatically searches for circled words. The phone may also have a voice recorder. The tipster claims the recorder can recognize ten voices. You can use it to translate conversations and summarise meetings.

The Galaxy S24 series phones also use on-device AI to translate 14 languages during audio calls. The tipster suggests the lineup might boost 35-language translation without third-party apps.
Samsung will release the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra on January 17. The Galaxy S24+ and Ultra should have 12GB RAM and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. However, the Galaxy S24 may employ Exynos 2400. For the Galaxy S24 Ultra, titanium is expected, while the Plus variants may employ aluminum. Companies promote the Galaxy S24 Ultra as their first Generative AI phone. South Korean IT businesses filed trademarks for “AI Phone” and “AI Smartphone.” It may also employ a new EV battery technology to extend life.
Useful AI features
Samsung may have been less vocal about AI objectives in 2023 than Google, Meta, and Microsoft. It considers how the technology may enhance phone use. Bixby Text Call mixes text with a phone call when speaking, which isn’t ideal. Samsung’s recent remarks hint that the Galaxy S24 series will highlight AI, like the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. Samsung introduced Galaxy AI, an “experience” for the S24, and Gauss, a generative AI model for language, images, and code. Few Gauss and Galaxy AI details exist. Samsung says Gauss can create emails and summarize papers, and Galaxy AI can translate phone calls.

Faster charging
The Galaxy S23’s basic S23 Plus and Ultra models charge at 25 and 45 watts, respectively. Some phones outperform this. The Lenovo ThinkPhone can charge from empty to 92% in 30 minutes using 68-watt charging. While CNET tested the Motorola Edge Plus, which boasts 68-watt charging, its battery charged from 3% to 80% in 30 minutes. These beat the Galaxy S23 Plus’ 45-watt charging, which only charges 11% to 72% in the same period. Faster charging isn’t a deal-breaker, but it would make the S24 enticing to consumers with limited charging time.
Base storage increases Galaxy S24
With all our apps, images, and movies, our gadgets can quickly run out of space. Most phone makers stopped including a microSD card port a long time ago, so you now use your phone’s built-in storage and the cloud. Samsung boosted the capacity of the cheapest Galaxy S23 Plus and Ultra from 128GB to 256GB, but the ordinary S23 still has 128 GB. Samsung should increase the base S24’s storage capacity to match the rest of the series. It would also help the S24 compete with Google’s Pixel 8 series and distinguish it from the $600 Galaxy S23 FE.
