‘Captains of the World’: Netflix’s New Original Series’ Trailer

The six-episode, football star-studded series is all set to premiere on 30 December, featuring the best football legends including the GOAT himself, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Cristiano Ronaldo and many more, offering fans an unparalleled glimpse into the thrills and heartbreaks of the 2022 tournament.

Netflix is back with one more original series. The highly anticipated soccer-centric series, Captains of the World, is set to go live on the platform on December 30th. The six-episode project, in collaboration with streaming giant FIFA+, produced by Fulwell, will take the viewers behind the scenes of the FIFA World Cup Tournament 2022 that took place in Qatar during November and December last year.

The Netflix series is a sequel to the streaming giant’s earlier originals Captains, which filmed the footballer’s efforts as the team strived to qualify for the tournament set to happen in Qatar.

The trailer of the highly anticipated series Captains of the World was released on Friday, giving fans a glimpse of the exclusive interviews and footage featuring the show.

In the trailer, you could spot soccer legends like Gareth Bale, Kylian Mbappé, GOAT Lionel Messi, Simon Kjær, Harry Kane, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

All of the captains will be seen giving interviews and answering some interesting questions. In one of the scenes, you could see Messi offering insight into his mood and passion during the event telling the people, “This is a World Cup, and it’s tough…We’re going to fight.”

On the other hand, you would spot, Ronaldo not shying away from expressing his focus on the tournament with a a statement in the trailer, “Everybody wants to win.”

World Cup 2022 Final

The 2022 FIFA World Cup Final, witnessed Messi’s Argentina defeating Mbappé’s France in the penalty strike kicks. The final took place on December 18 2022, in Qatar.

Lionel Messi, who currently plays for Inter Miami, Major League Soccer Club was awarded with the Golden Ball. It is awarded to the player who is chosen as the best overall player, and this award was much deserved by the GOAT.

Netflix recently has been going all out on sports documentaries, including the popular racing series Formula 1: Drive To Survive, The NFL-focused Quarterback in 2023, that put in the limelight standout players Kirk Cousins, Marcus Mariota, and Patrick Mahomes.

With Captains of the World, Netflix is set to give fans a never-before-seen look at one of the biggest sporting events in the world.
