Roborock S7 Maxv Ultra Review

Roborock S7 Maxv UltraRoborock S7 Maxv Ultra

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra represents the pinnacle of the company’s product lineage. This robot’s self-cleaning and self-emptying capabilities were not available on the same device until now. This isn’t the first time a product with this mix has been released, but it is the first time I’ve reviewed a robot. However, Roborock also included improvements such as Reactive AI 2.0, which is far superior to the S6 MaxV’s obstacle avoidance algorithm, and a redesigned base station.

Review

Available for pre-order in May 2022 at $1,399, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra features an automated empty wash fill dock. Both clean and unclean water can be stored separately in separate tanks at this dock’s facility. The dock will automatically replenish the robot’s water supply and drain any contaminated water.

This is, without a doubt, the top-of-the-line version. You don’t think you’ll ever use a robotic mop, do you? For $1,159, you can get yourself a Roborock S7 MaxV Plus and a self-emptying trash can.

For $859, you can purchase a Roborock S7 MaxV standalone robot vacuum and mop that doesn’t require you to empty the dustbin yourself.

Design

I am a fan of large docks. The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra dock, on the other hand, is enormous. This may serve as a cargo dock for the Millennium Falcon. The dock is 16.5 inches tall and features three containers that may be removed as needed: a clean, dirty, and trash can-bound. The entrance ramp that must be fastened to the dock for the S7 MaxV to return home will increase the dock’s footprint.

The dock’s footprint is 19.4 inches by 16.5 inches because of the ramp, which is helpful but occupies a lot of room. For reference, the iRobot Roomba j7+ dock takes up a space of 15.5 inches by 12.25 inches. The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is an aesthetically pleasing robot with its black body and red trim. At the top, you’ll find the three physical buttons controlling cleaning, power, and docking. Child lock mode is activated by pressing and holding the spot clean button for a few seconds; once activated, the bot will not respond to any control pushes.

The program also allows you to activate and deactivate the child lock. The robot’s back is where you’ll find the water tank that supplies the landing pad with liquid. Thanks to the enormous Empty Wash Fill Dock, I appreciate that the S7 MaxV Ultra doesn’t require me to refill the water tank manually. The clean water tank on the dock will automatically replenish it as needed, making mopping much less of a chore.

Performance

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra cleans in a regular pattern that begins with an outline of the room’s perimeter and continues with an S-shaped design within the system. It can sweep and mop in the same layout and do both jobs simultaneously. The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra performed admirably on hardwood, edging out the iRobot Roomba j7+ and the Roborock S6 MaxV in our Cheerios pick-up job with a score of 99.6.

When picking up kitty litter, the S7 MaxV Ultra could have been more effective, only managing to do so at a rate of 94.8%. Again, though, it was close to the 94.45 average of the Roomba j7+. The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra proved superior to the Roomba j7+ when picking up pet hair on hardwood floors. Regarding picking up dog hair, the S7 MaxV Ultra was 6 points ahead of the Roomba j7+ in our tests.

App

After connecting the Roborock to your Wi-Fi, starting a complete clean is as easy as hitting the icon of the robot vacuum and selecting ‘clean’ from the app’s menu. The cleaning mode, suction, and scrubbing power may all be adjusted through the mobile app. The S7 MaxV not only cleans your floors but also stores a map of your home, which you can subsequently divide into separate rooms and zones. Cleaning is often scheduled according to room size and floor type, with the hardest-to-clean portions (such as the kitchen’s hard floor) being left until last. This robot vacuum is excellent for multi-story homes since it can save up to three-floor plans.

Time in Battery

Roborock claims that, in quiet mode, you may get 180 minutes of battery life out of a single charge. We observed that 75 minutes of operation at full power was the maximum time the S7 MaxV could be operated before the robot vacuum returned to its charging dock. But it was enough to clean a three-bedroom, two-story home thoroughly. If the battery dies before the cleaning session ends, the robot vacuum will return and finish the job. Roborock claims that the S7 MaxV Ultra can be fully recharged in four hours, 30% faster than other Roborock charging ports. The remaining app battery life is displayed in the app.
