The LG Gramme 17 (2021) is the company’s newest 17-inch laptop that focuses on being as light as possible while still being great for work. With Intel’s 11th-generation mobile computers, the LG Gramme 17 (2021) lets you get work done quickly and without much trouble. Even though the LG Gramme 17 (2021) isn’t going to win any awards for style, it is one of the best choices for use in the office because it is so functional. Suppose you can handle the price, of course.

Almost certainly, the first thing you’ll notice about the LG Gramme 17 (2021) laptop is how light it is. At 2.98 pounds (1.35 kg), the LG Gramme 17 (2021) is surprisingly light, which is even more amazing when considering how big a 17-inch screen is.

The laptop is very light, which goes well with how fast it is. With processors from Intel’s 11th generation, the LG Gramme 17 (2021) boots up very quickly, so you can start working on projects immediately without wasting time.

Price

The LG Gramme 17

The LG Gramme 17 (2021) can now be bought for $1,799 (£1,599). This is about the same as other LG Gramme types. Last year’s LG Gramme 17 (2020) model costs $1,749 or £1,549. That laptop had Intel CPUs from the 10th generation. The extra money you pay for the LG Gramme 17 (2021) goes towards the Intel Core i7-1165G7 CPU, which gives it more working power.

Other ways exist to set up LG Gramme 17 (2021). There is a 512GB SSD version that costs $1,749, £1,549, or AU$2,999, which is a bit less.

This is the only type Australians can buy, and it might be better for you if you don’t work with very big files. Another version of the LG Gramme 17 (2021) has a 256GB SSD, costing even less at $1,699 (£1,499). However, with so little room, it’s hard to recommend the laptop at that price unless you plan to add external storage devices.

Design

The LG Gramme 17

The LG Kilogramme might be a true name for this laptop, but the LG Gramme 17 (2021) is still surprisingly light. It might be one of the first things you notice about the laptop when you take it out of the box. It’s hard to know how valuable this is without touching the laptop, but trust us when we say that a 17-inch laptop weighing only 2.98 pounds (1.35 kg) is an amazing feat.

The LG Gramme 17 (2021) is one of the lightest 17-inch computers on the market, thanks to its weight. Other computers made for work could do better in this area. If you’re worried about the LG Gramme 17 (2021) taking up more space, these might be better choices. Regarding space, the LG Gramme 17 (2021) is 15 by 10.3 by 0.7 inches (381 by 261 by 17.78 mm).

Performance

The LG Gramme 17

The style of the LG Gramme 17 (2021) has pleased us, and it’s also a good performer. Intel’s 11th-generation chip is great at processing, so you can work on several things simultaneously. The model we were sent to review has the same Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor, Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD, which is a lot. These last two also help the speed of the laptop a lot.

Even with many tabs and programs open simultaneously, the laptop showed its worth by getting things done quickly. Google Chrome has always used a lot of resources, but the top-of-the-line parts in the LG Graeme were fine with it. Photo editing is also great, and the good image quality of the screen means that the results can be both fun and correct. Long sessions of editing photos at 4K or higher can be hard on a laptop, so if that’s what you do every day, you might be better off with a more specialized model than the LG Gramme 17 (2021).

Battery Life

The LG Gramme 17

The LG Gramme 17 (2021)’s battery life is the show’s real star. During our standard tests, it easily lasted more than 10 hours. The video is also great on the laptop. When we looped a 1080p movie at 50% brightness, the battery lasted 12 hours and two minutes before it needed to be charged. Again, your experience may differ depending on how many programs run in the background. The LG Gramme 17 (2021) has a great battery life, so if you’re on the go, you can keep busy with films and shows for a long time.

Ports

The LG Gramme 17

The LG Gramme 17 Pro has enough ports to let you do most of the usual things you need to do on a laptop. This laptop can help you, whether you’ve switched to USB-C devices or you’re still holding on to your favorite USB-A ones. On the right side is a Kensington lock slot, two USB-A ports, and a microSD card reader. On the left side is a headphone jack, two USB-C ports, and an HDMI out.

There needs to be a power port for it. Instead, you charge it with the charger that comes with it through either USB-C port. The LG Gramme 17 Pro’s charger has a detachable power cord, but it seems too short for a laptop power cord. At just over 6 feet long, it’s just long enough to reach from the laptop to a power source right next to the table where the laptop is sitting.
