The Dell Precision 17 7730 is the ideal option if you want to acquire a powerful laptop, regardless of its size, price, or aesthetics. The 4K display and vibrant colours of this workstation are only two of its many impressive features. It’s nearly perfect, with a responsive touchscreen, a high-quality keyboard, and a sturdy design. The 17-inch display will let you enjoy your work in the comfort of your own home theatre.

The calming palette of the 4K multicolor panel is all you need to relax and enjoy yourself to the fullest. The panel scored highly and was able to reproduce an impressive 211 percent of the sRGB colour space. However, in comparison to the Dell Precisions, the displays on the Lenovo ThinkPad P71 were noticeably darker. With the Dell Precision 17 7730’s brilliant and matte display, working in direct sunlight is no longer a problem. This screen’s brightness of 330 nits is higher than that of the ThinkPad P71.

If you want to avoid hurting your wrists, make sure to use both arms when carrying the Dell Precision 7730. Having a skilled chiropractor means you can put this system in a backpack and take it with you wherever you go. It’s heavier than the HP ZBook 17 G4 (7.1 pounds) but lighter than the ThinkPad P71 (8 pounds), but still a portable device at 7.5 pounds. The Dell machine may be thinner than its predecessor, but the Precision 7730 still needs to be kept in a stationary position on a desk, measuring in at 16.3 x 10.8 x 1.2 inches.

Size-wise, it’s comparable to the Lenovo ThinkPad P71 (16.4 x 10.4 x 1.2 inches), however, the HP ZBook 17 G4 is somewhat larger overall (16.5 x 11 x 1.3 inches). The inclusion of a slim LED battery indicator on the front lip and aggressive dual vents made of glossy metal around the deck are both nice touches. The display bezels and fingerprint magnetism on the lid are my only complaints.
