Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max: The Update You Don’t Know!

Apple iPhone 14 Pro MaxApple iPhone 14 Pro Max

The biggest Apple smartphone is big and heavy, but it has a super-bright 6.7-inch LTPS display, a fast processor, and, most importantly, a much bigger battery than the smaller Pro model, which has the same 48 MP triple camera. Read our review to find out if the high additional cost is justified. Apple’s biggest smartphone, the iPhone 13 Pro Max, has joined the competition. The idea behind it is the same as it was with the iPhone 13 Pro Max from last year. Compared to the smaller iPhone 14 Pro, the bigger screen is what everyone is talking about. But, unlike in years past, the cameras are now the same, and the Max has a lot of minor improvements.

Apple has also raised the price of the large model significantly. It is now EUR 1,449 (US$1099) for 128 GB and EUR 2,099 (US$1599) for 1 TB. We think paying $100 more for a bigger screen is a lot. This review will discuss what the iPhone 14 Pro Max offers.

Features for the camera

The viewfinder has been mostly the same since iOS 13 and the iPhone 11. You can see outside the viewfinder because the three cameras are so well calibrated that you can see what will be left outside the frame in real time. Smart HDR, Night Mode, and Deep Fusion are still part of Apple’s image processing, but the Photonic Engine is a big deal.

Design

The IP68-rated glass and steel body of the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the same as before, and from a short distance, it would be hard to tell the difference between this model and its predecessor. The placement of the buttons and ports is the same, and the lighting port is still there. I hoped to see a Type-C port this year, but I’ll have to wait until next. The Max version is pretty big and heavy, which seems like an obvious thing to say, but maybe I’m noticing it more after using the 13 Pro, which is smaller and easier to carry around.

One of the most noticeable changes is that the wide notch is gone. In its place is a smaller, pill-shaped notch that hides the sensors that make Face ID work and a punch-hole notch with the selfie camera. Many people, including me, have been asking for the notch to be smaller, and this is Apple’s answer. It might be hard to swallow, but it’s looking more and more like Apple can’t make the notch any smaller without compromising the security of Face ID unless it can find a way to make the hardware inside smaller. Even so, the new notch is a nice change from the old one, and Dynamic Island makes the experience even better.

Performance

You can’t have a new flagship iPhone without a new chip, and sure enough, the A16 Bionic SoC debuts with the iPhone 14 Pro siblings. The new SoC is made with a 4nm process, is faster, and uses less power than the old one. The A15 Bionic in the iPhone 13 Pro was already quite robust and able to handle even the most demanding tasks. The A16 Bionic doesn’t seem much better regarding raw numbers, but it’s still a capable chipset that won’t leave you wanting more performance. Check out this performance comparison video to see how the A16 Bionic stacks against Qualcomm’s top chipset and predecessor.

Display

Here, you can look forward to a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with LTPO that goes up to 120 Hz. It’s a beautiful screen, and the brightness has been raised to 1,600. It’s a treat to use because it has tasty pictures. Apple has added the long-awaited always-on feature this time, but its work isn’t great. It looks like a darker version of the lock screen and affects how long the battery lasts. After a few days, I turned it off.

Conclusion

At first glance, the iPhone 14 Pro Max doesn’t seem like a significant change. And it’s not worth buying if you already have one of last year’s Pro models. However, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has much to offer for some people. At a starting price of Rs 1,39,900, it’s expensive, but for your money, you’ll get a daily driver that gives you a great user experience in almost every way a smartphone can be used.

You can also choose an Android flagship, like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra or the Galaxy Fold4, at this price. But people say an iPhone is an iPhone, and the 14 Pro Max, the newest and best iPhone, shouldn’t leave you wanting more. Between the Pro Max and the smaller Pro, I’d say that the larger model makes the most sense for people who want to get the most out of their daily driver regarding productivity and entertainment, while the smaller model is the more convenient of the two.

FAQs

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is the first time Apple has gone beyond a 12-megapixel sensor on the phone, replacing it with a brand-new 48-megapixel sensor. For the most part, you’ll still be able to take 12-megapixel photos because it uses the same “pixel binning” method as Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999 (£1,099, AU$1,749), and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max starts at $1,099, the same prices as the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max from 2019. I think the phones are worth every penny now that I’ve used them for a while.

The iPhone 14 lineup includes the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Plus, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
