True productivity goes beyond ticking off tasks. It’s a mindset that requires mental clarity and resilience. By cultivating the right mindset, we can accomplish more while experiencing less stress. To get started, here are eight practical tips to shift your perspective and boost your productivity.

8 Tips to Boost Your Productivity

Mastering Mobile Multitasking

Set the Right Priorities

Everyone has their own unique way of working effectively, and nowadays, technology permeates almost every aspect of our daily lives. While there isn’t a universal solution, a good starting point is to prioritize and set boundaries with things that might distract you. For instance, during my most productive periods, I set my calls, emails, and text messages to “do not disturb” mode. This helps me focus on my to-do list and prioritize important tasks throughout the day. When I’m away from my office, I enjoy listening to podcasts and audiobooks to stay connected to my personal interests beyond work and keep learning.

Strike A Balance

It’s important to avoid excessive screen time, not only because it hampers productivity, but also due to its negative impact on health. Both Android and Apple offer apps that track device usage, providing detailed breakdowns. Apple users can utilize the Screen Time feature on iOS 12. To minimize distractions, reduce notifications from different apps and consider keeping your phone away at bedtime. Remember, alarm clocks are readily available. When you have leisure time, try apps that aid relaxation. You can meditate, exercise, read, or listen to music. There’s an app for everything!

Place optimization

If you are interested in mobile multitasking, smartphone performance is important. To bring back good performance to your device, try the phone cleaner. Thanks to the iPhone CleanUp app, you can remove various junk from your phone and free up its memory. This will positively affect the performance of the device as a whole. It is enough to periodically run the CleanUp app and your iPhone will work faster and more stable. Obviously, the phone app will also free up space for your personal data.

Track your time

Tracking your hours can be really helpful for better time management. You can begin by dividing a large project into smaller tasks. Depending on each assignment, you can allocate your time differently and note down the start and end times of your tasks. With time, you’ll be able to estimate how long a task will likely take and plan your study time accordingly. This way, you can reduce time wastage and feel more confident about your study habits. Time management is crucial for many professional roles, improving productivity and aiding in your future career as well.

Take regular breaks

You might think it sounds cliché, but trust me, taking breaks can actually boost your productivity. If you study for long hours, it’s very likely that you won’t perform at your best. Pushing yourself too hard can lead to fatigue and stress. That’s why regular breaks are important—they give your mind a chance to rest and process all the information. So whether you take a five-minute break every hour or carve out 30 minutes a few times a day, find a break schedule that suits you best.

Remove possible distractions

To maximize your productivity, find a quiet workspace devoid of distractions. Turn off the television and switch your phone to silent or airplane mode. Although social media can provide relaxation, it can also have a contrasting impact on your focus. Sometimes, while studying, you may experience FOMO (fear of missing out) when classmates are enjoying themselves outdoors. Additionally, we have all been in situations where we initially intended to spend just five minutes on Instagram, only to end up scrolling for hours. Consider disabling push notifications for social media to improve concentration. Each time you check your phone, you disrupt your productivity mode, and it takes some time to regain focus.

Text Only

Make the most out of your phone by fully utilizing its features. Consider turning off or muting all notifications, as mindlessly swiping “YES” to send notifications can lead to hours of distractions. At our company, we value mindfulness, and it starts with me. To show my team that I am fully engaged in our projects, clients, and work, I ensure that my phone alerts are disabled and I only check them when I intend to, on my own terms. I prefer to keep only text messages active, and I limit my use of social media platforms like Instagram to once or twice a day for posting and responding. This way, my attention remains focused on my staff, clients, and family.

Set achievable goals

Setting goals is a great way to find motivation and fulfill your needs. However, having too many goals can be overwhelming, and it can be counterproductive if you don’t achieve all of them. To start off, begin with easily attainable goals, like taking a walk before your class, to establish a foundation. As you accomplish those goals, the rest will seem more achievable.
