Rumour has it that the forthcoming ROG Phone 8 will make a debut at CES 2024, and Asus has just revealed a picture of it.
Before its introduction, Asus had teased ROG Phone 8, their next flagship gaming phone. A certification website showed the ROG Phone 7’s replacement, indicating an imminent launch. Asus revealed that the ROG Phone 8 will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, which improves performance and efficiency over last year’s flagship chip.
Asus teased the ROG Phone 8’s upper right corner on X (previously Twitter) on Friday. The left camera module corner appears darker. Adjusting the brightness levels reveals the triple back camera arrangement and side USB port. The teaser only says the handset will launch soon.

MySmartPrice found the Asus ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro on the Bluetooth SIG certification page with model numbers AI2401_C/D/A and AI2401_A/C/F. Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra AI2401_H was also seen on the website. Gadgets 360 confirmed these smartphone model numbers on the website. In future days or weeks, Asus may release ROG Phone 7 successors. Includes 32-megapixel selfie camera. Both ROG Phone 7s have 65W-chargeable 6,000mAh batteries.

ROG Phone 8 may have three models: 8, 8 Pro, and 8 Ultimate, the top-end variant. All three models will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. However, the Ultimate model may use Galaxy’s faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The processor supports 24GB RAM. Storage options are unknown, but we predict up to 1TB. The phone supports 65W fast charging and Android 14 out of the box. Since ROG phones are for gamers, we expect ROG illumination, a secondary screen on the back, and more. Unfortunately, no official launch date was announced, but as it is the direct successor of the ROG Phone 7 range, which launched in April, we should expect a similar launch next year. ASUS ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro were recently Bluetooth SIG-certified alongside the Zenfone 11 Ultra. The top-end ROG Phone 8 Ultra had 24GB of RAM and visited GeekBench.
A similar model appeared on China’s 3C certification authority. The devices appeared on the IMEI database again. From what we know, the ASUS ROG Phone 8 series will have Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. This is all the information we have right now, but we will update you when further gaming handset details are released.
