So far, nobody has released a mid-range smartphone and a smartphone that is almost a flagship. Rumour has it that the company is preparing a new smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2a, for the mid-range category, so it appears they aren’t entirely abandoning the market just yet.

Even though Nothing hasn’t made an official announcement about this phone just yet, it appears like they’re following Google’s lead, which frequently uses an “a” in the name of its cheaper phones. A 4,920mAh battery, 6.7-inch screen, 16MP front camera, and 50MP primary camera are all things that have been circulating about the phone. Tipster Sunny Chaudhary informed Android Authority of the specifics of this Phone 2a. Even though Nothing hasn’t made an official announcement about this phone just yet, it appears like they’re following Google’s lead, which frequently uses an “a” in the name of its cheaper phones.

According to rumors, the Nothing Phone 2a might have an impressive 6.7-inch screen with a silky 120Hz display, guaranteeing very sharp and visually appealing images. The 16-megapixel front-facing camera is supposedly located in the exact middle of the display, making it ideal for taking selfies. It may have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a 50MP primary camera on the rear for steadier photos.

There is a discussion of a robust 4,920mAh battery within. If that’s the case, the phone may have a very long battery life. Leaks have also suggested that Nothing OS 2.5 may be the phone’s operating system from the get-go.

This current round of revelations follows earlier discussions on X regarding the Nothing Phone 2a, which used the codename “AIN142.” There is, however, a catch! A leaked picture of the phone’s settings page displays a design that looks more like the original Nothing Phone 1 than the more recent Phone 2. The screen size and positioning of the selfie camera, on the other hand, appear to be identical to the existing Phone 2 on the Phone 2a. An intriguing possibility is that the Phone 2a’s battery is 250 mAh more significant than the Phone 2’s.
