A suspended Twitter account leaked GTA VI’s first trailer on X less than a day before Rockstar’s announcement. Though the GTA VI teaser was set to release Tuesday, December 5th at 9 AM ET, Rockstar hastily posted it on its YouTube page.

After being leaked on X, formerly Twitter, Rockstar Games released the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer on Tuesday. Released ten years ago, the highly anticipated trailer surpassed 23 million views in its first few hours on YouTube. The trailer reveals that the sixth chapter will be released in 2025. The early release of the trailer, caused by an online leak, appeared on the eve of the first scheduled premiere presented on Tuesday about GTA VI.

GTA developer Rockstar Games posted on X, formerly Twitter, “Our trailer has been leaked, so let’s take a look at it for real.” The trailer introduces Lucia, a female protagonist who engages in a series of crimes on crowded beaches, city highways, and clubs with her partner, like a Bonnie- and dynamic.

As the trailer opens, Lucia and her boyfriend are shown engaging in heists reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde set in Vice City. Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, is facing a leak problem.

In 2022, hackers revealed never-before-seen images of the following GTA creation. The gaming community was shocked by the emergence of realistic screenshots and videos of online gameplay, a situation the company admitted was the result of a “cyber hack.” “We recently experienced a cyber intrusion in which a third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for Grand Theft Auto is coming,” Rockstar Games said.

Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive previously said it expected the game to generate $8 billion in net bookings by 2025, Bloomberg reported. It is noteworthy that the Grand Theft Auto series, which started in 1997, has sold more than 400 million units to date; the last version of this series was released in 2013. There is a gap of more than ten years between its release and release. The release of GTA 5 and GTA 6 has left loyal fans of the games eager to see the new game.
