Today, Bard will get a “specifically tuned version of Gemini Pro in English for more advanced reasoning, planning, understanding, and more.” Google will launch Bard Sophisticated early next year, giving users initial access to our most sophisticated models and capabilities, starting with Gemini Ultra.
Eli Collins, VP of Product, Google DeepMind, told indianexpress.com:
“We have done a lot of work on improving factuality in Gemini, so we’ve improved performance with regards to question answering and quality, but the LLM is still capable of hallucinating. Integration of these models with goods like Bard gives us other methods to improve response accuracy.”
Google says Gemini Ultra “exceeds current state-of-the-art results on 30 of the 32 widely-used academic benchmarks” for large language model (LLM) research and development. It added that Gemini Ultra is the first model to outperform human experts on massive multitask language understanding (MMLU), which tests world knowledge and problem-solving skills in 57 subjects like math, physics, history, law, medicine, and ethics to the tune of 90.0%.
The company also claimed Gemini can “understand, explain, and generate high-quality code in the world’s most popular programming languages, like Python, Java, C++, and Go.”
