The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 has been a fan favourite among gamers for a long time, and for good reason. However, with the release of the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 gaming headset, the business hopes to surpass even its achievements. The new headset is aesthetically comparable to the older one but has many more up-to-date features. As a bonus, it works with next-gen platforms like the Xbox One X and PlayStation 5.
The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 headphones cost $149, but are they worth it? Please be aware that while we’re evaluating the PlayStation 4 version, there is also an Xbox One version of the headset.
The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 is a well-made gaming headset; however, it is one of several recent releases that seems under-featured due to its lack of support for a future platform. You won’t be let down if all you care about is a low price and long battery life.

Design
The sleek appearance of this headset is the first thing that catches the eye. While the headset’s reliance on plastic slightly lowers its durability, it has the advantage of keeping it light. They also have a metal frame that is sturdy enough to keep them together for the most part. The controls are on the left ear cup and include a mode switch, power, Bluetooth pairing, and USB-C port for charging and data transfer.
It takes some time to get used to the layout of everything because there are many controls and switches. Again, it will take some time, but you will adjust. A retractable microphone is located on the left ear cup. The microphone may be retracted conveniently so it doesn’t stick out too much. The headset has a USB-C charging cable and a USB dongle for wired use when Bluetooth is not an option. It’s perfectly adequate, and you shouldn’t have to look elsewhere for anything else.
Comfort
The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 headphones include generous padding, making them suitable for extended use without discomfort. We wore the headphones for long periods without pain. The padding is also rather cold, which is excellent for warm weather. Nonetheless, they have flaws. The headphones weigh a fair amount and have a secure clasp; getting used to them may take some time. Given the headphones’ weight, the clamp is necessary; still, a looser clamp would have been preferable.
Sound
The sound quality of the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 has always been respectable for the price, and this iteration is no exception. Their crisp, detailed audio contributes to a more engaging gaming experience. The low-frequency response is rather satisfactory. Explosions have a lot of heft, and kick drums have a lot of thump in music. You won’t have a terrible time here, and the bass could use some work, but it’s not great. These cans have excellently tuned mids. The high mids are well-balanced, and the low mids are present sufficiently for a pleasant listening experience. They do appear to be set back a little, but this is by no means a drawback.
Performance
The adaptability of this headset is probably one of its best features. In addition to its built-in Bluetooth and 5GHz dongle, the Turtle Beach Steal 700 also features Bluetooth 4.0. The result is compatibility with a wide range of devices, but support for wired connections would have been preferable. The headset maintained a strong connection over both the Bluetooth and 5GHz methods. The headset has a respectable 20-hour battery life, so you won’t have to worry about power shortages as long as you sometimes remember to charge it.
The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Facts
If you’re familiar with the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2, you’ll feel right at home with the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2. The headset’s design is strongly reminiscent of the company’s successful Recon series. The PlayStation 4, the PlayStation 5, and the PC are all compatible with the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 wireless gaming headset.
Is It A Good Idea To Download The Turtle Beach Audio Hub?
The Turtle Beach Audio Hub smartphone app is compatible with the Stealth 700 Gen 2 headphones. Depending on your perspective, the app’s stripped-down nature may be a plus. The PC app can only update the headset’s software; the mobile app must access the headset’s EQ settings, Superhuman Hearing mode, and control mapping options. Many gaming headsets use supplementary apps, but the Turtle Beach mobile app stands out for being particularly inconvenient.
Conclusion
The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 is a good buy because of its high-quality audio and wearability. However, is it the most excellent headset available for under $150? It’s hard to say. The SteelSeries Arctis 7 is an excellent option if you don’t require or desire Bluetooth connectivity but still want wireless freedom without the hassle of a dongle.
