When you purchase a hotel and air package with your Marriott Bonvoy account, you receive a certificate for a 7-night stay at a Marriott hotel and a specific amount of airline miles, determined by your chosen deal. You must use your 7 nights consecutively. If you check out early, there won’t be a refund of the nights you don’t use.

You don’t have to use your air miles with your hotel stay. They will come with an expiration date and blackout times, as they are determined by the airlines, so plan accordingly.

When you call Marriott to purchase your package, you won’t need to know specifically what hotel you will be staying at or the dates of your vacation. You will however need to know which of the 4 category hotels you plan to be staying at. Marriott consists of Luxury, Premium, Select, and Longer Stays.

The best deals on vacation packages tend to appear far in advance (more than 3 months) or last minute. Hotels and airlines are either opening up new flights or bookings for reservations or they are hurrying to fill current vacancies.

If you don’t have a specific date in mind for travel and are just looking for a vacation, the last few weeks of January and the first week of February offer the best deals, as most people vacationed or flew during the holidays.
