Intel Unveils The New AI Experience-Focused Core Ultra Mobile Chips
New Intel Core Ultra mobile processors are available in stores and online worldwide. Intel partners with Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and others to use these chips in over 230 AI PCs.
On Thursday, Intel announced its latest Intel Core Ultra mobile processors at its “AI Everywhere” event. These chips are said to revolutionize laptop power efficiency, computing, and AI.New Intel Core Ultra mobile processors are available in stores and online worldwide. Intel partners with Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and others to use these chips in over 230 AI PCs.
The debut of Intel Core Ultra shows Intel’s unprecedented scale and speed in enabling AI on PCs. By 2028, AI PCs will make up 80% of the PC market. Intel is best positioned to deliver this next generation of computing with our vast ecosystem of hardware and software partners, said Michelle Johnston Holthaus, Intel executive vice president and general manager of Client Computing Group. Intel claims these chips improve battery life and work, learning, gaming, and streaming performance. Intel claims they are its most AI-capable and power-efficient CPUs because of their dedicated AI acceleration across CPU, GPU, and NPU. Their support of over 100 independent software vendors and 300 AI-accelerated features set them apart.

Intel’s Core Ultra 7 165H chip promises 11% better multi-threading performance than AMD Ryzen 7 7840U, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3, and Apple’s M3. Power consumption is 25% lower than the Intel Core i7-1370P and up to 79% lower than AMD’s Ryzen 7 7840U “at the same 28W envelope for ultrathin notebooks.” In addition to personal computing, Intel Core Ultra processors can accelerate AI in healthcare, retail, and manufacturing.

Key Features in Brief
- Up to 22 threads, 16 cores
- Maximum turbo frequency 5.1 GHz
- Maximum DDR5 memory is 96 GB.
- Integrated Intel Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) and 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 4 connectivity.
Strong AI-accelerated lineup
As part of Meteor Lake, Core Ultra CPUs are no longer called “Core i”. The Intel Core Ultra 5, Core Ultra 7, and Core Ultra 9 have up to 16 cores and use the advanced Intel 4 process (7nm). Dedicated AI acceleration across the lineup distinguishes them.
Powerful graphics and architecture
Six performance cores, eight efficiency cores, and two low-power efficiency cores provide 22 threads in the processors’ advanced design. The unique “Intel Thread Director” optimizes workload scheduling for performance. The Performance-core (P-core) architecture improves instructions per cycle (IPC). At the same time, the efficiency cores and low-power efficiency cores provide scalable, multi-threaded performance up to 11% faster than the competitors. The Intel Core Ultra CPUs’ Intel Arc GPU with up to eight cores doubles graphics performance as compared to prior models. Hardware-accelerated ray tracing, mesh shading, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, and more are supported by this GPU.
Dedicated AI for efficiency
Intel announces AI Boost, a low-power neural processing unit for longer AI workloads. This NPU enhances CPU and GPU AI computation, resulting in 2.5 times higher power efficiency.
Improved laptop experience with Intel Evo. Intel also said that Intel Evo notebooks with the latest Core Ultra CPUs will improve user experience. These laptops provide better cooling, quieter operation, and power efficiency while keeping high performance. This advances the next generation of Intel-powered laptops.
