A delight for ‘Office’ fans, John and Carell will be working together with Ryan Reynolds on a new comedy banger ‘IF’. Not only just as co-actors but Krasinski will be directing the animated comedy. Read more below.

The Film

Paramount Pictures on December 14th, Thursday released the trailer of ‘IF’ which is written, directed, and co-produced by Krasinski. This film has been in the making since 2019, a project very close to Ryan and John. This iconic trio is known for their humor and sense of timing; watching all three of them together on the screen would be a big dose of laughter.

The movie would be a star show with all the A-list actors in the lead roles

In the trailer, the synopsis for the film is:

From writer and director John Krasinski, IF is about a girl who discovers that she can see everyone’s imaginary friends — and what she does with that superpower — as she embarks on a magical adventure to reconnect forgotten IFs with their kids.

The Plot

The new family-friendly animated comedy ‘IF’ is a story of a father-daughter duo, where the duo possesses a unique ability to see people’s IFs (imaginary friends) that have been left by the children they once helped. The movie promises to be an exciting adventure as the duo sets out on a mission to help imaginary friends find their place and importance in the world.

John’s Motivation

The film looks like an exciting new concept but besides the concept John has an emotional backdrop and motivation as well when he says,

“‘IF’ is a movie that I made for my kids because I don’t think they’re allowed to see ‘A Quiet Place’; Emily [Blunt] calls it PG-40, ‘You’ll get to see it when you’re 40!’ So I had to make a movie that they could see, and I’m excited about it.

For me, it was just about what if we could tell a story about these time capsules? Imaginary friends are adorable and all those things, but they’re also time capsules of your hopes, dreams, and ambitions when you were the most fertile of a brain, and it never goes away. I think we’re told that we’re adults instead of what if you realize that you never stopped being a kid,”

IF Cast

Besides the A-list actors, you will be seeing other major celebrities voicing for this animated comedy including Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Cailey Fleming, Fiona Shaw, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr., Maya Rudolph, Jon Stewart, Bobby Moynihan, Sam Rockwell, Sebastian Maniscalco, Christopher Meloni, Richard Jenkins, and Awkwafina.
