Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: A Underwater Movie About To Sink?
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
In the DC Extended Universe, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, often known as Aquaman 2, is the fifteenth and last chapter. December 22 is when the James Wan-directed live-action sequel movie is set to open in theatres. However, some were fortunate enough to see the movie at the exclusive “fan screening” beforehand. The Jason Momoa-starring superhero movie has been claimed to be a “satisfying sequel” by fans. Some even gave Amber Heard’s portrayal of Mera in the movie high marks. In addition, some people were completely enthralled by Aquaman 2’s looks. However, when it came to the story, people were not very happy.
What is the story?
The film attempts to explore themes of redemption, treachery, and brotherhood. Jason Momoa returns to the role of Arthur Curry, the aquatic Adonis, who must battle an ancient force that threatens to destroy Atlantis. Despite having a larger budget and higher stakes than its predecessor, the 2018 movie’s sequel finds it difficult to stand out in the sea of superhero mediocre performance.
Even though Momoa has a charisma that rivals that of a tidal wave, his enormous biceps aren’t enough to save this sinking ship. Though they do their best to restore the wreckage, returning cast members Nicole Kidman (Atlanna), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Black Manta), and Amber Heard (Mera) are akin to reorganizing deck chairs on the Titanic. The plot advances with little grace, much like a clumsy breaststroke. Arthur battles Black Manta, his archenemy, who carries the powerful Black Trident and a grudge that is older than the power he seeks. In a twist as unexpected as Aquaman’s ability to speak with fish, Arthur allies with his half-brother Orm, played earnestly by Patrick Wilson, to liven things up.
What do the fans think?
This chapter of Spandex Heroes is about to come to an end, which many fans believe is a much-needed change. However, the movie still doesn’t match up to the expectations of the fans and has ended up disappointing several DCEU fans.
