Organizational Starter, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Essentials Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and Education Plus users of Google Workspace will have access to the feature.
Google Slides Recording Feature: Availability
Users of Google Presentations on Chrome will soon have the ability to record presentations using Google Workspace. This new feature, according to a blog post published by the American technology behemoth on November 28, will enable users to record themselves presenting a slide and subsequently distribute the presentation for others to view.
In the weeks to come, the feature that began rolling out on November 28 will be accessible to all Google Workspace Business, Enterprise, and Education customers.
The feature, according to the company, will enable users to share more engaging video presentations with others for flexible, effortless viewing. Users will be able to record slides without requiring an additional video recording application. Additionally, users can add audio and webcam feeds to their recordings using the built-in or external camera and microphone hardware of their computer.
The process of creating a multimedia recording
- Launch the desired presentation for recording.
- Choose ‘Record new video’ by clicking the ‘Rec’ icon in the upper-right corner.
- Simply click the red record icon to begin.
- To restart the recording process, halt and select Re-record.
- Click Save to Drive after pausing to save the recording. A “Slides Recordings” subdirectory is created in “My Drive” to store recordings.
- A time constraint of 30 minutes is imposed on each session, and the dimensions of the recordings accumulate in the user’s Google Drive storage.
Additionally, it is important to mention that the ability to create recordings is restricted to Google Chrome on a desktop. It is not possible to create recordings on mobile devices, and Slides mobile app users do not have access to them. Users can locate and review their recordings, however, through the Drive mobile application.
