Vin Diesel Charged With Sexual Assault Allegations

Action star Vin Diesel, of the “ Fast and Furious ” series, is now embroiled in a bombshell lawsuit by his former assistant Asta Jonasson accusing him of sexual assault. The incident, she claims, took place in a hotel room when filming Fast Five began again in Atlanta in 2010.

She claimed that the actor took her to a hotel suite and masturbated in front of her. She is even taking a stand to accuse One Race, her earlier production company that is owned by the Fast and Furious actor. The company had certain terms with her to be present at the gathering and photographs with the actor.

Therefore, the firm Greenberg Gross representing Jonasson issued a statement that says, Asta was sexually harassed and assaulted by Diesel, and shortly after reporting this incident to One Race Production Company, she was subsequently fired.

The firm stands strong by its accusations against the actor and his production company, showing full support to Asta who faced accusations and were forced to keep it concealed.

The scene as per the lawsuit

As per the lawsuit, the harassment scene is being told in detail. It was the late night in September 2010, at St. Regis Hotel where the assistant was asked to stay at Diesel’s suite until he finished his event.

Post the event Vin took hold of Asta’s wrists and took her to bed, where “Ms Jonasson was unable to escape and closed her eyes, scared of angering Vin Diesel by rejecting him further and trying to dissociate, wishing the assault would end,” claimed the lawsuit.

According to the lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Jonasson went through a miserable experience while employed by Diesel’s production company One Race Films in 2010. Diesel strongly denies both charges, but they describe a situation of power imbalance and abuse.

The suit says, “Ms. Jonasson felt like she was a piece of trash to be discarded. Ms. Jonasson felt helpless, her self-esteem was demolished, and she questioned her skills and whether a successful career would require her to trade her body for advancement.”

“It was clear to her that she was being fired because she was no longer useful — Vin Diesel had used her to fulfill his sexual desires and she had resisted his sexual assaults.”

Speaking up

Jonasson’s legal team points to the Speak Out Act and California’s AB2777 as helping create an atmosphere that allowed her to step forward. The laws listed above all say explicitly that a nondisclosure agreement cannot apply in cases of sexual assault, assault, or harassment and gives victims the courage to seek restitution. Furthermore, the passage of AB2777 temporarily extends statutes of limitation for sexual abuse cases, meaning that Jonasson can file a lawsuit despite how long ago his case occurred (in 2009).
