Gabby Barrett Declines Singing Duets With Male Singers
The singer revealed she doesn’t want to “Jeopardize” the marriage and wishes to avoid any uncomfortable situation with her husband Cade Foehner
Gabby will not sing with men anymore
Country singer Gabby Barrett made headlines after revealing that she won’t sing romantic songs with male singers out of respect for her husband, Cade Foehner. She recently revealed that she has already rejected a few “large song opportunities” for love song duets with male singers, to avoid any uncomfortable situation with her husband.

Her Reasons
In a recent interview on the Unexpected podcast, which is hosted by Dan+Shay’ Shay Mooney’s wife Hannah, on December 18, Gabby revealed why she’s not accepting duets with male singers anymore. She said, “I listen to what he has to say and I think he deserves that…There have been songs that are just not appropriate to sing wording-wise.”

The Cowboy Back singer kept on explaining that some of the songs that she rejected are “really intimate” love songs and believes that behind those songs a lot more goes than just recording a song.
“When you accept a song, there’s that goes along with it, that you could sing it on award shows together, you might be doing interviews together,” “What does that look like on the stage? What does that dynamic look like?” she explained.
The Growing Up Raising You singer admitted that Cade’s feelings matter here while making these decisions. It plays a significant reason for me not going ahead with those projects where I have to record love song duets with male singers.
“If I’m singing with another man, is that going to make my husband uncomfortable? Probably,…I respect [Cade] and love him so much that I’m not going to jeopardize my marriage to do a duet with somebody, you know. Like, I care about this a lot more and I pray and hope and know that God will bless my efforts in trying to keep my marriage straight, and not just for a duet or whatever it is,” the singer said.
Gabby and Cade first connected on American Idol Season 16. Since then, the relationship has always progressed at 2x speed, and the couple got married in October 2019. They are currently expecting their third child together.
