PROS

CONS

1. Battery life is about okay (around 4 hours).
2. The design is cumbersome and heavy (5.1 ounces).
3. There isn’t much room for data (only a 256GB SSD).

Features

This laptop has a few extras and extras that are worth talking about. It also has many good things that make it a popular choice for game devices. Some things that stood out immediately were how it looked and how light it was. The design is beautiful and easy to carry, and it looks like or was inspired by the creation of a Zenbook. The overall performance is also very good. Even though there may not be a clear answer about how long its battery lasts, the battery is better than average for this type of game laptop.

But, just like with any other piece of equipment we’ve looked at, we also found some downsides and problems. The facts gathered are that the specs don’t justify the price, that it doesn’t have a USB type C port, and that it’s not very easy to upgrade. This is because it’s a gaming laptop, which needs to be built around the equipment set to run it, while gaming desktops can be constructed to hold any type of equipment bought to build them up.

Design

Regarding design, this Asus model meets and even passes the “good-lookingness” standard. The textured lid and backlit keyboard give it a Zenbook-like feel overall. The proportions and layout keep everything looking sleek and very gaming-like. Still, the small details make it stand out for us: the diagonal lines on the lid, the scissor-style keyboard keys, the all-too-popular black-on-red highlights colour scheme, and the stunning 120Hz display. These features create a package that can hold its own against similar or following builds.

Performance

Even though the chip that comes with the Asus ROG FX503 is from the 7th generation, it performs just as well as it did before. Based on tests with different tools and games, the machine’s speed and response times are the same as usual for this hardware. The GPU, a 1050 model, gives pretty good image ratio numbers and ensures that your game experience is handled and generally goes smoothly, even when it’s not seamless.

Battery

Once the ASUS ROG FX503 battery was put through the Battery Killer testing system, it lost its power in 1 hour and 4 minutes. Like many gaming laptops, a full charge could be used up in less time than it takes to watch a certain show of Game of Thrones. This isn’t a great result, but it’s not too bad for a gaming laptop, which usually has trouble with this.

Keyboard

The ROG FX503 has a great keyboard that will meet the needs of players. The buttons feel good when you touch them. The buttons can also be lit up, which makes them easier to use when there isn’t a lot of light. ASUS has also made the WASD keys stand out by making them easy to find and light up. You can feel signals more exactly and precisely on the keyboard.
